Privacy Policy — AI LinkedIn Post Generator & Scheduler
Last updated: June 18, 2026
Extension name: AI LinkedIn Post Generator & Scheduler
Contact: privacy@techerd.com
This Privacy Policy describes how the Chrome extension AI LinkedIn Post Generator & Scheduler (“Extension,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you install and use it.
By installing or using the Extension, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Extension.
1. Summary
The Extension is designed to help you create and schedule LinkedIn posts using AI, with optional comment assistance and engagement tools.
Most data stays on your device in Chrome’s local extension storage.
We do not sell your personal information.
LinkedIn access uses your existing browser login session; we do not ask for or store your LinkedIn password.
AI features send text you choose (topics, drafts, posts to comment on) to third-party AI providers you configure (OpenAI, Google Gemini, or DeepSeek), using your own API keys.
Optional account login (email/password) may be used for licensed features via our authentication API at ailinkedin.techerd.com.
You can export or delete locally stored Extension data from the settings page.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information stored locally on your device
The Extension stores the following in chrome.storage.local on your computer:
Category Examples Purpose
Settings Topics, expertise, tone, audience, banned words, safety caps, scheduler slots, pause state Configure how the Extension generates and publishes content
Drafts & queue Post drafts, approval status, manual queue items Post creation workflow
Author profile Name, headline, location, photo URL, bio fields you save Improve AI post quality in your voice
LinkedIn profile cache Profile fields and recent posts fetched from LinkedIn (when you run profile sync) AI training and style learning
Connections LinkedIn profile URLs/identifiers you add, notes Optional engagement on connections you track
Engagement logs Posts you commented on or reacted to, timestamps, daily counts Avoid duplicates and enforce daily limits
Auto-post logs Publish success/failure, previews, slot times Show status and debug scheduling
Audit log Extension events (e.g. draft created, approved) Local activity history only
API keys OpenAI, Gemini, DeepSeek keys you enter Send AI requests on your behalf (BYOK)
Assistant ID OpenAI Assistant identifier (if you train an assistant) Personalized AI generation
Session sync LinkedIn member URN (myUrn) Identify your profile for API calls
Optional login token Auth token and basic user record (email, id) if you log in Access optional account features
API keys are never included in data export (export intentionally omits them).
2.2 Information read from LinkedIn (not stored by us on a server)
When you are logged into LinkedIn in Chrome, the Extension may:
Read your LinkedIn session cookie (JSESSIONID) to obtain a CSRF token for authenticated API requests.
Call LinkedIn’s APIs (from the Extension background) to:
Fetch your profile and recent posts (when you sync profile for training).
Publish posts you schedule or approve.
Comment or react on posts (only if you enable engagement and add connections).
Fetch connection profiles you explicitly add by URL.
The content script on linkedin.com reads LinkedIn page localStorage only to sync your member URN into extension storage. It does not scrape unrelated pages.
We do not receive your LinkedIn password. Session data remains tied to your browser’s LinkedIn login.
2.3 Information sent to third-party AI providers (your choice)
If you add an API key and use AI features, the Extension sends requests directly from your browser to:
Provider Host What may be sent
OpenAI api.openai.com Prompts, topics, expertise, author profile text, post/comment context, and (if you use “Train Assistant”) profile + recent posts to create an OpenAI Assistant
Google Gemini generativelanguage.googleapis.com Same types of text prompts for generation
DeepSeek api.deepseek.com Same types of text prompts for generation
You control which provider is used. Without a configured key, those requests are not made (except where you explicitly trigger a feature that requires a key).
Each provider’s use of data is governed by their own privacy policies:
OpenAI: https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy
Google: https://policies.google.com/privacy
DeepSeek: https://www.deepseek.com/privacy
2.4 Information sent to our authentication service (optional)
If you choose to log in with email and password:
Sent to https://ailinkedin.techerd.com/api
Includes: email, password (login only), and bearer token on subsequent /user requests
Stored locally: auth token and basic user profile returned by the API
Not sent: LinkedIn content, drafts, or API keys to this service (based on current Extension behavior)
2.5 Information we do not collect
No advertising identifiers or ad tracking
No sale of personal data
No analytics SDKs or third-party telemetry in the Extension codebase
No collection of browsing history outside linkedin.com
No remote logging of your LinkedIn password
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information solely to:
